Dreams symbols - a doorway to our unconscious
“For me dreams are the part of the nature that does not have any attention to
deceive us, but express something that know better, like plants grow up or animals search for the
food the best way they can.” C. G. Jung
Symbols belong to our live as a very important part of our consciousness and sub consciousness, as
a kind of their messengers. Symbols help us to express things not easy to explain, sometimes not
even easy to understand them. That’s why they are so present in the language of art, religion, and
esotery. We can realize the psychological importance of the symbols when we start to understand
symbols’ world from our dreams.
We can feel the world around through our senses selecting automatically information with our
consciousness and sending some of them to our sub consciousness to wait until the moment when they
are going to be resent to us like symbols through our dreams.
When one symbol comes to our dream there is always some very important reason why it comes in this
particular moment and in this particular form. The form of our dreams is completely different from
the form we express the things in every day life. When we try to explain something we have a kind
of start and the end of our story, certain logic easy to be understood. In dreams, it is different.
It is totally different world with its own logic, selection and presentation. And all that serve us
to dig something deeply hidden in our sub consciousness.
If you are really interested to come closer to your subconsciousness, try to come closer to your
dreams.
Always keep in mind that the message is in the dream, so stay in the story of the dream coming
again and again to it from all possible sides until you think you have got the point. Then start
again the same procedure. Sometimes we can be surprised with the second approach after we had
already understood the very first content of the dream. It is like an experience with the movie.
After watching it for the first time, each next opens some new and very interesting point of the
same story giving a completely new impression about the whole.
Our consciousness sends us signals from our inner world trying to tell us something of importance
for our life. If we understand the message we have a chance to solve some of our life problems.
Symbols are the alphabet of our consciousness from where they come through our dreams. The most
important aspect about dream interpretation is that only you can judge what they mean through your
personal associations with common symbols.
That is why it is important to understand our dreams and to decode them;
How to do that?
Before going to bed think that you wish to remember your dreams. A meditation before sleep can
help relax the mind. Place a pencil and paper next to the bed. If you wake up during the night,
write down what you have dreamt about. In the morning write down your dream story reading from
your night notes. Try to put the dream into memory. Write about the feeling, or mood, that was
associated with it. Try to think of a title for the dream, just as if it was a movie or your
personal article. Keeping a kind of dream journal for a length of time is essential, because the
repeating patterns of dreams tells us much over time. Another technique is to play self talk game.
Try this method using the same way like chess enthusiasts do playing the game with self. You can
put different questions being one who puts them and one who answers.
Symbol that repeats deserves a special attention. Try to enter this symbol being itself and using
the self-talk game in order to understand its message.
Advice: It is recommended to keep notes about during all these “talks” in order to compare
development in your understanding. Sometimes only after few times you could feel that you have
finely understood the message.
