An Interview with Juan Sebastian Amadeo

Mirjana Mut interviewing Juan Sebastian Amadeo

What he is all the time is the painter who paints fine art, illustrations, digital art and cartoons. Enjoy the following interview with Argentinean artist Juan Amadeo.

Numerology & Amadeo’s Art

Your birth date has brought you 10/1 vibration which shapes your life challenges around freedom and action. You have determination and commitment when setting your goals.
How much does it help you to be a recognized artist?

I think that vibration you described was very helpful to me to became a recognized artist.. Personal situation in my life also forced me to be that way.

But, this same vibration is responsible for shortcomings and impatience, especially when things do not go the way you want.
What makes you impatient in your work and what are your reactions then?
Juan Amadeo: I have observed and learned over time that if one does focus on a positive vibration, the objectives are realized, sooner or later.
I fight impatience every day by working on what I love most, painting, drawing, expressing, inventing ….

Your strongest characteristic which is also shaped with your birth name is under the same vibration 1. It shows you as a person who performs best when left on your own. Besides, this vibration shows you as highly ambitious and competitive in wanting to be the best.
As you are a freelancer artist, this side of you should be of help for your career. Is it true?

Juan Amadeo: Yes, it is very true.I`m very competitive, especially with myself.

Courage and readiness to walk path less taken are part of your life. Part of that is also a charismatic ability to influence others.
Was it beneficial for your career as a musician? Could you tell us something about this aspect of your life, you as a musician?

Juan Amadeo: Yes, this skill has given me the security to develop myself, not only to become a musician, but to lead a group in the past too.
When I was a singer in the group which is famous now, it was one of the most extreme times of my life. I was 20 years younger and life was ahead of me on a train without a driver. What I did was to get on and try to drive through youth and rock. The result was very rewarding, affecting my way and my creative side. This was the stage that opened many doors to me.

Your birth name vibrates 12/3, which is the number of self-expression, rich in imagination and spirit, optimistic and inspiring energy and tremendous creativity that could be manifested in the fields of writing, comedy, theatre and music.
Beside visual arts and music, have you tried to express yourself in any of these other fields?

Juan Amadeo: Yes, I wrote philosophical essays and poetry. I also acted in short films, but nothing professional, just for fun.
I have always felt the need to express and transmit myself in any way, shape or type, taking everything I had in order to do that.

Love is one of very important themes of your life as your inner urge is under the influence of the vibration 6. It is the most loving of all numbers, especially expressed in one-to-one relationships.
What is love for you and how do you express it in your life and in your art?
Juan Amadeo: Love is everything.

Click here to view the embedded video.

It is the energy that moves human beings.
A man without love is an empty bottle, a pile of bones without a soul.
I nourish this energy constantly, every day, along with the people I love, and I also transmit that on the canvas.

Until the age of 44 you are challenged by the number 5, which is in this phase of your life responsible for your wishes to experience and enjoy life by trying everything and going everywhere possible. Actually it is a period of your life that is quite compatible with your birthdate vibration. Within this bigger life cycle governed by 5, in which your tendency for freedom and exploration is growing over many changes you have met, your 2012 influence you differently. This year pushes you toward determination and work, which is a nice balance for this turbulent period you have been living since your age 36. It is a good year for remodelling or changing your home, to finish what have been postponed for too long. This is a good year for selling and trading too. This year will help you to ground your work and years in front of you.
January and February were months of changes, and June should bring you a breakthrough in your work.

How do you see this year so far?

Juan Amadeo: Well, that’s really true. In January I moved from my old home in the new one.
And this new home is a “home base” to meet these new changes that I’m convinced are coming.
Personally I feel that right now “I am standing in the middle of Life”, ready to learn, to undertake new challenges with full energy, potential and creativity, as my basic tools.

We would say “I am sharpening the knife” or “preparing brushes”.

Juan Sebastian Amadeo & Tarot

Your dominant orientation is toward spiritual and the philosophical aspects of life. It comes from your birthday vibration 7. Being at home within the world of spirit, you are driven to understand the unseen world, always trying to find a way to express that desire and your understanding of unseen in practical terms and sharing it with others. That is why I was not surprised when I saw your beautiful Tarot cards at Tarot Art.

What do you consider as your inspiration to start your Tarot cards?

Juan Amadeo: First, what motivated me to illustrate each Tarot card was the magic combination of elements and symbols that are in each one of them. Before I had never observed them in detail. But, when I did I discovered that each card contains the whole world. As separated each one is like a short story, like a little poetry for those who want to “read” them and understand them.
They were like an invitation to go through a new door of a fantasy.

Which is your favourite card and why?

Juan Amadeo: I have not finished illustrating the entire deck yet, but I think none will surpass “The Magician”.

I feel deeply identified with that card, which was the first one that appeared the first and the only time that I took a Tarot reading.

What is the response of others to your Tarot cards? Any plans about it?

Juan Amadeo: The response has been very good so far. There is a major publisher who is very interested in the project. It is still not confirmed.

The artwork of Juan Amadeo

What is art to you? What would be your definition of art and an artist?

Juan Amadeo: Art is a way of life, or a way that calls for expressions of life.Artist is the one who loves what he does and does what he loves with an approach to life that such understanding of life has to be enjoyed every second of life.

When did you start to draw? Do you have any specific influence or inspiration for beginning to draw?

Juan Amadeo:I was always drawing from an early age. In fact, all children draw. The only difference is that I have never stopped doing it.

Do you have any person that inspired your life and your art?

Juan Amadeo: Many….
I have had many influences, constantly learning from other artists and nature, which is the essence of the colors. But if I would have to nominate five, for example, they would be:
Quino (Argentine cartoonist), Etcher, Picasso, Goya and Gustave Doré.
But, it is quite unfair to name only a few artists.
I love all artistic expressions, from the children drawings to Hellenic statue.

How would you define your basic orientation in art?

Juan Amadeo: I am self-taught painter. Once some time ago, a friend of mine told me that self-taught dosen´t exist, and in some way it is true. Although I have never studied art in any art school, I have always observed every drawing, painting, landscape, illustration or any other artistic expression to the extreme detail, expressing it then my way.

You used to be into music as a member of the rock band La Mancha de Rolando, one of the successful Argentinean rock bands from the late 1990s.

When did you leave the band and why? What is about music now in your life?

Juan Amadeo: I left the band and the rock.
I think the rock rebellion reflects a specific time in a specific age of our lives. It doesn’t die, it stays beating inside of us, but one grows mature and changes the taste , including new ways of rebellion.
Personally I have never ceased to rebel, only that the rock at one point in my life ceased to be the tool for it. I just went away.

Do you have any project at the time you would like to share here with numerology arts readers?

Juan Amadeo: Right now I have several projects. Without any doubt, the most important will be to start this painting of 2 meters x 1.50 approximately.
The painting will try to satirize “The last meal” of Leonardo, relocated in Argentina.
It describes a barbecue with friends, here in Argentina as here the roast beef is part of our idiosyncrasy, our culture. It will be the painting of a “last meal with friends”. When I work on it my I feel to be in the right place.

Simple & Personal

Where did you grow up?

Juan Amadeo: I grew up in a suburb of Buenos Aires, where you should you have to assert yourself in order to survive. It is a place with much of soccer, with two streets of two major soccer stadiums.
It is the neighbourhood of buildings where the train passes. We were all day outside playing.
I grew up in the beautiful place called Avellaneda.

What is a favourite age or time in your life and why?

Juan Amadeo: It is the present time. I enjoy every moment intensely.
I like to project myself, both in the past and into the future, but just for fun.

What are your thoughts about love? Are you in love?

Juan Amadeo: I’m in love with my wife, she is one of the best things that have happened in my life, a gift of fate. Without her I would “lose the the North.”

What is your favourite book and why?

Juan Amadeo: This is a complicate question. The book that influenced me is “The adventures of Robinson Crusoe” by Daniel Defoe.
Although I think it’s a tricky question as the list would be endless.

What is your favourite movie and why?

Juan Amadeo: Lately I’ve discovered a great movie called Baaria by Giuseppe Tornatore. I think that I watched it four times and it surprises me each time again.

What is your favourite music (album) and why?

Juan Amadeo: I’m currently listening to “The Swan Lake”, Лебединое Озеро, of Tchaikovsky. Simply because it is eternal, everlasting in its beauty. Something is happening to me now with this work I guess, or because I grew up… I keep discovering things I like now…
But Abbey Road is certainly the record that I would take with me to an island.

What is your favourite gift to give?

Juan Amadeo: I don´t give gifts generally. But in special ocasions, a painting or a drawing would be gifts that I would love to give.

How do you start your day? Are there any rituals you couldn’t miss?

Yes, I start my day drinking “mate”; my fuel oil is the “mate”; without it I could kill…

What is your relationship to nature and animals?

Full… I live among nature; my new home has 34 trees. I love dogs, cats, birds, land. My wife is a veterinarian and works with horses. We live in a village near the field. I try to get away from urban centres and all kinds of pollution. I believe that cities are like tumours for the land, and I try to escape from that. It is not a political issue, it is because I follow my instincts.

“When you cook with love you are healing those for whom you cook.” Mirjana Mut

Magic of Cooking

Cooking is a form of art. I enjoy creating healthy and interesting meals that are unique in taste as well as in presentation. My kitchen is my meditation room where I enjoy the whole process in total relaxation. Cooking is energy and when done with loving thoughts for those for whom you cook, this energy is connecting and healing. During my study of vegetarian cooking and macrobiotics I became a vegetarian myself, aware of many benefits of this choice. It is not only healthier, but it also gives me so many creative possibilities. This art of cooking challenges me daily. Because herbalism is one of my passionate interests, I incorporate this knowledge into my cooking too. My kitchen has been transformed into the field of endless creativity.
For all these reasons I also offer self made vegetarian lunch during lunch break at my workshops. Healthy drinks with always new recepies are also part of the whole healing and learning event.
For this time I have chosen a very healthy Ginger Carrot/Celery Soup. This will be served during my Aspectics workshop in Vienna, Austria in March and in Porec, Croatia in April. What I usually serve with this soup is homemade bread.

Ginger Carrot Celery Soup

There is hardly better warming soup for winter than Ginger Carrot Celery Soup.
In order to prepare it you need following ingredients:

1/4 cup olive oil
2 large onions, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound sliced carrots

1 pound sliced celery 4 TBS minced fresh ginger
5 tsp. coriander seeds
3 1/2 quarts of vegetable stock
1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. sea salt (herbal salt is preferable)
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 cup plain yogurt
Some fresh coriander for garnish

Directions

Toast over medium-high heat the coriander seeds until golden shaking them constantly (for about 3 minutes). Use dry skillet for that.
Cool and process in a blender into a fine powder. You can also use mortar and pestle instead.
Warm the oil in a soup pot and add the onions. Cook it stirring occasionally or until the onions are translucent (3 minutes).
Add the garlic, ginger, carrots, celery, vegetable stock, sea or herbal salt, pepper, and ground coriander.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until the carrots and celery are tender.
Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
Process the soup in a food processor until smooth.
Just before serving, add to each bowl a dollop of yogurt or pumpkin oil. Finally garnish with a sprig of fresh coriander.

——–
In the Natural World, Herbalist‘s Essentials, you can find a very useful information about medical use of Ginger.

One of ways to solve personal problems is to use your dreams as a personal oracle in order to see what your consciousness, which is in the permanent communication with the cosmic consciousness, will offer you as an answer.

“Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity »

Dreams as a Personal Oracle

One of ways to solve personal problems is to “consult” your dreams to see what your consciousness, which is in the permanent communication with the cosmic consciousness, will offer you as an answer. How to do that?

Choose one less stressed day when you want to work the chosen problem. Put yourself the precise question about the problem and write it dawn. Write also dawn every little note you find important for the situation/problem in question. Try to find some key word which expresses the very key of your problem. Before going to sleep, speak or chant this key word loud as more often you can memorizing your problem during this chanting.

This beautiful painting made by Sabina Nore calls you to the treshold of your dreams

Next morning you should have some reaction. The answer can be dream with a clear message for you; or you are going to get some completely new prospective to the problem. Anyhow, write dawn as usually notes about your dream, trying to describe it with pictures. Whenever again you think about these pictures during the day, it is possible that you get some new “information” about your dream, i.e. about your problem. Write it down.
With time you will be able to understand all these messages that will help you to understand the answer and to apply it to your life.
Before starting such a communication with your dreams and using your dreams as an oracle, a necessary condition is to believe that this way you can get a message. As we get what we really want to, so, if we are serious in putting the question, most possible is that we are going to get some answer.

Mirjana: Your birth date vibration 5 has brought many interesting aspects into your life. Freedom and independence are crucial to you. Your heart and gut-instincts are your main guidance through life. You take paths less traveled following your need to answer questions that can only be answered through traveling, exploration and experiencing a variety of life situations

What would you say about it?

Miklos: I think most part of the analysis is correct. But I can’t say that I’m fond of traveling and exploration, except in my mind. I do like different cultures, different countries, and experiencing different situations, but in essence I’m quite a reclusive person, and I tend to spent my time mostly in my house, reading, thinking, writing and creating art in different ways.

Mirjana: You tend to be involved in several things at the same time. Change and new things are familiar to you because you explore always new horizons. These are also aspects of your birth date vibration.

Finding one focus and sticking with it is your biggest life challenge. As your birth date vibration is also responsible for your multi-talented expressions in many art forms, my question is:

How do you keep yourself disciplined or committed to one chosen project at the time in order to see it blossoming?

Miklos: Most part of my discipline comes from my mind, and not from my actions. I mean, despite sometimes I’m engaged in several activities, such diversity doesn’t mean a lack of coherence between them. All piece of creative art I create belong to one language only. They may differ in style, but not in context.

Mirjana: The spiritual urge, which is also one of significant aspects of your birth date vibration, is the reason for many of your personal vision quests. Your birth name strengthened this quest pushing your interest in exploring scientific matters, philosophy, and even mysticism. You possess clarity and persistence in your search for truth.

How much has your art been influenced by your quests for truth and mysticism?

Miklos: Honestly, I must say that my personal urge doesn’t pretend to be mystic. In fact, as I say in my text “The Neosurrealist Manifesto”, there is a huge difference between mere mysticism and spiritual explorations, at least regarding my artworks. I concede that is very difficult to avoid confusions between the mystic languages ,as esoteric or “new age”, and oneiric, fantastic, iconographic explorations and studies, as I try to reveal throught my artworks. But, in fact, my personal quest means to explore creativity and perception, symbolism and insight. In this case, not only my art is influenced by those issues, but all aspects of my life as well.

Mirjana: There are two interesting points about your current name. The middle part of your name, Miklos, has a power of a master number 22/4 which makes accomplishments more visible. Dressed in grace of patience, tact and diplomacy this name has a potential of master builder. Your other master vibration 11/2 of your current name Claudio Miklos represents a visionary and spiritual teacher.

How do you harmonize these two aspects within you – you as a spiritual teacher and you as a painter?

Miklos: As I have already said , I understand my life as an expression of my inner discoveries. Due my practice as Zen Buddhist, I see art as part of life. So, even if I’m creating essays, crafts, paintings, drawings, or if I’m coordinating zen practices, there’s always one “I” doing that. All these things demands creative skills. In this matter, I say that there is no conflict.

Mirjana: When put together, your birth date number and your birth name number form a beautiful vibration 12/3 which started improving your creativity and self-expression after the age of 35. The influence of this vibration will be felt stronger and stronger with each passing year. This blessing influence brings enjoyment, close friendships, and much creativity as well as happiness in the latter part of your life.

Are you aware of these influences after you were 35 in comparison to the period before that age?

Miklos: After my 33 I felt some important emotional and psychological changing. But I was very creative, imaginative and strongly sensitive since my early 10 or 11 years already. My latter years has been mostly a reflexive time to me. I can’t say that I was more creative or that I enjoyed more after 35, but I have become much more enlighten in many ways.

Mirjana: 2012 is the year of opportunities for you. Be ready for major changes. In comparison to the last year, which was a year of letting go, in this year you will have more confidence and determination. This year is there for you to apply yourself to your dream.

Putting this in the context of your many artistic expressions, what is your intuitive feeling about it? Where do you see yourself in this year?

Miklos: Well, I should say that I don’t see this way, but who knows? For sure, 2012 must be a turning point in my life, for I’m passing through very hard times lately.

Mirjana: Your Art of Simple Things is expressed through a series of Zen calligraphic studies.

What can you tell us about your artistic approach to Zen?

Miklos: All my aesthetic vision has its core on Zen approach. Recently I achieved a Master’s Degree in Art based upon a study of mine about the zen artistic language. Even my Neosurrealistic art has its core in the zen practice.

Mirjana: Your Symbolic artwork is expressed through Chinese Iconographic Studies.

What was your inspiration to take this path as well?

Miklos: I have deep respect to Hindu, Chinese and Japanese cultures. And the Chinese is perhaps the stronger influence.

Mirjana: You know Brazilian Portuguese, American English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and Sanskrit. It is not only very rich knowledge of languages, but a very unusual one too.

How have you come to know Mandarin Chinese and Sanskrit?

Miklos: As I said , it comes from my strong interest to explore the richness of these cultures. More specific, I start the Sanskrit studies due my musical interest to hinduistic songs, bhajans and mantras at the time I was musician (singer). As for Chinese, my practice in ShuFa (Chinese calligraphic art) lead me naturally to the study of Chinese writing. But I’m not fluent in any of them. It’s just part of my almost endless interest to something new and different.

Mirjana: What is art to you? What would be your definition of art and an artist?

Miklos: It is quite difficult to make an accurate definition of art. I consider the creativity and sensitive skills as part of a free mind. So, in order to achieve insight and a balanced mind one must be able to connect with the artistic part of self. In this case, I understand art as equal to life, and one of the most important mind phenomena. It is a way to freedom and well-being. When correctly experienced, the way of art can lead us to real and effective wisdom.

Miklos: I have some favorite individuals, whose acts and words I admire.
Questions are a kind of psychological game with sub-consciousness. They are provocative call that cannot be ignored. Once put, questions stay marked in our consciousness open to all kind of answers. They can be in the form of images, emotions, thoughts, body reactions. Once put, they cannot be ignored, they must be answered. Avoidance is also a kind of answer. In whatever form answers come, they shouldn't be ignored. And they can’t be, because it will raise another question.
When the poet puts questions, they are directed to everybody’s soul. Answering poet’s questions is like having a journey into the core of the being where all answers are.

THE WAY

What is bigger, my strength
Or my weakness?

Am I truly me in sadness
Or in my happiness?

Am I really brave
Admitting that I am scared?

Is it possible to forgive
Even when I too much care?

Do I only care for myself
And not for others?

When I don’t succeed, but fail
Can I be confronted with others?

Do I really live,
Or am I daily dieing?

When I am giving of myself
Is it without crying?

When I feel repentance
Is it my real affection?

Is the Truth really mightier
Than the lies’ attraction?

Asking all these questions,
Do I really ask or simply play?

Oh, dear Lord
Please show me The Way.

Out of the blue

Horizon seems split in two different images. On my left side it was blue and clear, one of images when it seems like you are melting with the serenity of the blue. On my right side it was grayish cloudy, looking like it could easily turn into dark. I was aware of both these images and their powerful beauty. Sitting on the deck, very close to the prow, I was dancing somewhere in between.

Out of that blue some thoughts about my namesake friend came to my mind so strongly that I almost could feel her presence. I know that she has been having some emotional issues lately, but it felt stronger than that. This unusual feeling was so strong, me so confused about it and not noticing that I was approaching the edge of the boat. When I came to the edge I looked down in the water. It was unexpectedly transparent and clearly blue. The first thought was that it is not possible to have this transparency with such depth of water there. But as fast as it came, that thought disappeared and I realized that she is in the water with some green grass chaining around her legs. Her face was turned up to the surface of water and the expression was not fearful, but happy.

How strangely opposed stay her position there and her face expression.

This thought crossed my mind, but it was as short as the realization that I was jumping in the water to save her.

The water felt safe and protective, warm and peaceful and for the moment I thought that she made a right choice. Still I was diving toward her and reaching her legs I started liberating her from the grass. The grass was not aggressive, but still enough strong and somehow decisive not to let her legs free. And she was not fighting. She was relaxed.

Was she so decisive to let it be and let it go or she had already lost her consciousness?

My fingers were full of grass, but it didn’t try to catch me or something. Each little peace of grass I would take from her legs started floating around in different shapes and nuances of green, so that whole water looked surrealistically beautiful. When I took the last line of grass from her, I grabbed her with all my power pulling us toward the surface.

When our heads hit the surface I heard an explosively high pitch sound forming a kind of protective rings around us. I looked at her and saw her smiling face. She was saved and she looked happy.

The saving ladder from the boat was dropped down to help us climbing up. When I reached the deck the only thing I was aware of were many wide shut eyes looking at me. Somebody asked me:” Why have you jumped in water here? Do you know how dangerous was that?”

I turned to my friend for the answer, but nobody was there. I was alone, wet, staying on the deck between all these eyes.

After a short moment of silence I was aware of a laughter coming from my plexus, clear and high in pitch. Some of Phantom rings of the previous explosion took my laughter and I saw it climbing upper and upper.

“I start a series of interviews with selectively chosen contemporary artists.
Not only will you learn how they deal with the challenges and advantages of creating art for a living,
but you will find out what it is that makes them unique in the noble mission of art.”

~ Mirjana Mut

An Interview with Ryan Nore

Mirjana Mut interviewing Ryan Nore

Ryan Nore is a contemporary artist who expresses his multiple talents in paintings, drawings, sculptures, artistic objects and writings. I admire his art and that is why he is here. He answers my questions about his life and his world of imagination.

Numerology & Ryan’s Art

Mirjana: Your dominant vibration is 6. You have it in your birth date in your full birth name and you express yourself emotionally through this vibration. Your Hidden Passion, which is your strongest vibration puts your 6 in the frame of unconditional love. Your vibration 6 brought you artistic talents, in visual and performing arts, as well as in writing and music. It is emotional vibration that supports love and care for others even to the point to sacrifice personal needs and it is responsible for your needs to express your multiple talents and creativity.

How much of your own artistic needs must you sacrifice in correlation to your need to be, in the most supportive way, completely there for those you love?

Ryan: I understand what you mean but I would have to say I don’t really sacrifice anything. From a certain point of view it could be said I tend to neglect my artistic needs to take care of some “day to day things”. However, I have a tendency to express myself artistically in different ways depending on my mood. Such as, I tend to be more visually oriented in artistic expression when all is good and I am happy or on the other side, more verbally or literarily when things are not so nice I am sad or angry. I prefer to be visually oriented in my artistic expression, and that would mean the people I care about have to be happy as well. And if by doing some menial tasks so they don’t have to makes them happy then I am happy too. So, what may appear to be “sacrifice” from one perspective is in fact “support” in the other.

Mirjana: As a contrast to your strongly emotional nature, your personality vibration 1 protectively presents you as a person who radiates dynamic and efficient energy who others see as a strong personality not letting easily to be pushed around. Some could even see you as not only strong but aggressive too. Your physical appearance is one of strength with the same vibration as well as are your intuitive insights.

Is it true? When do you show anger and how much do you have it under control? How would you define it?

Ryan: How I would define it would depend on when you ask me. But I would say, and I am hoping others that know me would agree, that I am mellowing out some as time goes by. But I don’t try to “control” my temper/anger because it was explained to me by my lovely wife that as we get older we tend to lose our systems of control (like with the bladder and/or involuntary movements). So, instead I rather attempt to discover the source of my anger and develop a different method of dealing with the situation other than through anger.

Mirjana: Physical and outdoor activities bring you closer to yourself. They harmonize your two highly potential vibrations, Heart Desire and Personality.

How much can you get out in nature, or work in the garden? Do you feel this kind of activities as beneficial for your art or not?

Ryan: I don’t really know. I spent most of my life in very rural surroundings, and although I now live in a fairly urban environment I couldn’t really say that it has affected my art negatively. I am sure it has an affect, but it has been a long time since I have been so deep into artistic creation and can’t really compare to give a certain answer either way.

Mirjana: As far as I know, you belong to those who stand for natural way of living.

How many of your ideas are incorporated in your painting “World of art”?

What does a natural way of living mean for you and what are your plans in that direction?

Ryan: Not so much. The only real personal connection and meaning behind “World of Art” is that being that my life is once again circulating around visual creativity I feel much more serene and a secluded island is the personification of serenity for me. The constant salty sea breeze, gentle waves lapping the shore, the periodic laughing of gulls… beautiful. Most of my artwork recently has not been very deep but rather superficial and fun because I am still “playing”… so to speak. I have only dabbled artistically for quite some time due to the practical necessities of life. And prior to having paused, I had very little time in developing a workflow or my personal style in a digital medium. So, right now I am still just having fun and not real serious with the topics of my paintings or drawings. But, yes, I can see ecology, environment, nature, society, politics, and corporate perversions being my main topics when I turn towards more serious pieces. I just tend to learn faster and easier when things are fun and light.

Mirjana: When looking to your art expressed in so many different ways, as paintings, drawings, sculptures, artistic objects, writings…what comes to my mind is Michelangelo’s diversity.

Who is your idol in art?

Ryan: I never really had any idols… I definitely admired Michelangelo and da Vinci but never to the extent to idolize them or their work.

Mirjana: Not only your vibration 6, but your karmic lesson 4 as well are there to give you hard time with commitments. And your Heart Desire vibration 5 strengthens this restless energy and need for change.

How difficult is it for you to concentrate on one specific thing and put all your energy and talent into it, as there are so many things you would like to do at the same time? Do you also see it like this? If so, what helps you to keep these tendencies in balance?

Ryan: I don’t really have that problem. I tend to have a one tracked mind probably because it was something I was forced to deal with at a very early age and I learned to push all other thought processes out of my head while I am doing something. I am not a multi-tasker. So, interruptions, not a good thing. To have my train of thought broke is generally detrimental to my process. You could paint me as a train… completely. Once I get into it, I am there… I get my momentum and I’ll zoom away right to the end. But remove part of the rail or force me to slow down and it is going to take me a while to get back up to speed again.

Mirjana: From the age of 39 you entered the influence of your challenge vibration 4 that will expose you to understand the importance of perseverance and repeated effort.

What would you consider as your most valuable life challenge put in this connotation?

Ryan: Hmmm, tough question only because I am not one to look up the road and measure the degree of incline of the hill I am climbing. But what has been the most trying to my character is coping with other “artists”. Entering into this “World of Art” I have come eyeball to eyeball (too close) with some very talented technical artists that have no imagination or real creativity. Yet they are the one’s that are judging other artist’s creations and saying whether or not it is “good”. That is like having a robot judge a piece of jazz. I would say that being able to persevere over such critiques was my largest challenge so far.

Mirjana: Your Pinnacle vibration 7, nicely balanced with your mental expression, put you on the path of inner development and soul searching, the path of being in the flow with the power of the universe as the force that carries you along.

Do you feel this change? How has it manifested in your private and artistic life?

Ryan: Not yet, but I feel it coming. I haven’t done much analyzing at this point because I have one tracked mind and I have been very focused on immediate concerns lately. But with a little retrospection and current feelings, where I (we) are headed is the right path. But I don’t want to seem or sound unappreciative of the path I am leaving. It was definitely a developmental stage and good through that, but I think the existence that is evolving is the destined existence for me, my wife, our family…

Mirjana: Your Personal Year for 2012 is 12/3 which brings you unlimited joy through creativity. One artist couldn’t imagine better.:) The message of this year for you is to express yourself through every medium you can imagine, pushing yourself to imagine even more. This vibration is synergized with your Maturity vibration(your self-expression , creativity, spontaneity and originality are improving).

Putting that in the context of your many artistic expressions, what is your intuitive feeling about that? Where do you see yourself in this year?

Ryan: Hmmm, you know? I had been witness to a situation where a friend of mine was asked about what he looks for in a girl/woman, and his reply made me think. He said he doesn’t have any fixed set of characteristics or traits because he could be wrong. Those sought after traits might not really be right for him but he only thinks they are because he admired them in somebody else and he would hate to pass up his soul mate because he set conditions that were essentially wrong. As I explained earlier, I am still developing and I have a mass number of directions I can go with my talents but I think it is too early for me to set a focus in any particular direction at the moment as it might be the wrong one and I would hate to have to back track in order to go in the right direction later. I know that I am on the right path, and that things are going to develop nicely this year in the lines of art and life but where it is going to take me… I can’t say and I have no vision of it yet. But, my latest piece “World of Art” was voted Picture of the Week at “Photoshop Creative” magazines site… so that is pretty encouraging.

Ryan Nore & TAROT

Mirjana: I saw your Tarot cards at Tarot Art:

What was your inspiration to make your Tarot Cards?

Ryan: My wife, as usual, she is my inspiration for most things.

Mirjana: What is your favorite card and why?

Ryan: I can’t say I have a favorite card out of the entire tarot deck, but out of the one’s I painted I would have to say that so far, artistically and symbolically expressed, I would say it is the Wheel of Fortune.

Mirjana: Is your urge to paint Tarot Cards connected to any mystical experience?

Ryan: Not really, I like the artwork of some tarot decks, and the cards themselves are practically composed of pure symbolism and so as an artist it is the challenge that appeals to me. Not to mention there are 78 cards in an entire deck so it is also a daunting feat just to complete a series of paintings of that size.

                     Ryan’s Art

Mirjana: What is art to you? What would be your definition of art and an artist?

Ryan: Well, first and foremost it is my innate means of expression. But secondly it would also be a means for me to find people of a like mind (depending on interpretation) and to help others feel understood or not alone.

Mirjana: Who is your favorite teacher or person that influenced (inspired) your life and art?

Ryan: I have many in different ways but I would say my Mom and Granddad. My mother was quite the cartoonist as well as being quite the craft’s woman. My grandfather was a master carpenter.

Mirjana: I like very much your drawings and caricatures.

When did you start to draw? Do you have any specific influence or inspiration for beginning to draw?

Ryan: You know? I have no idea. I mean, every kid draws, right? So, how to say when I started drawing… as soon as I could pickup a crayon I guess. I don’t always have an influence or inspiration but I love it when I do.

Mirjana: What about cartoons?

Ryan: I love cartoons! I used to entertain the idea of being an animator for Walt Disney Studios.

Mirjana: I read your unique book of poetry

Could you tell us few more words about it please, as well as about your writing?

Ryan: It’s a book of love. What can I say? As I mentioned earlier, I tend to be more artistically expressive in a literary sense when I am sad or angry. Those poems were written when I lived in the U.S. and Sabina (my wife for 12 years now) was living in Austria. The longing and misery that I was feeling came out as poems which I hand bound and presented to her on our tenth wedding anniversary.

There it stood with its limbs outstretched,
Taking in all the sun its delicate leaves could catch.

The beautiful young sapling, in stone set its roots.
A very rough beginning and succeeded by few,

But once this young tree’s roots took hold,
No storm could destroy it, regardless of how bold.

Bending in winds and leaves stripped away,
limbs ruthlessly snapped, yet still the young tree would remain,

Standing upright, outstretched with its gl

Not “The End”, yet the beginning of the story!

Mirjana: Your world of sculptures and artistic objects presents you again as multitasking artist.

How would you define your need to make sculptures or these beautiful artistic objects?

Ryan: It is a need only in the sense as all my other artistic expressions… it is simply a means of communication. If you limit your vocabulary and your perspective you will also be limited in your communication as well as your understanding. While light certainly has an affect on a painting and a painting alters the appearance and atmosphere of a room, I believe sculptures can have a much grander affect. Depending on if you back light it, light it from directly above or from the side you can get three distinct results… depending on the sculpture of course. Using a colored light, or rotating it slightly one way or another. But sculptures are much more demanding on their environment and their care takers.

Mirjana: I consider true artists as those who influence the human consciousness and contribute to changes of humanity. They encircle the world with their imagination.

What is your current view of the world? What would be your approach in making the world a better place?

Ryan: Well, I believe what the world needs is better education. I think societies need to stop educating their young to best serve their economics and focus more on educating them to live in harmony with their surroundings. And I don’t mean simply be more environmentally conscious but to be more accepting, loving and understanding of our neighbors locally to universally.

Personal Questions

Finally, I would like to ask you few more personal questions

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in a small town in Northeast Texas named Mount Pleasant.

Your thoughts about love? Are you in love?

I love love! Yes, I am in love.

What is a favorite age or time in your life and why?

I have many for different reasons, but let’s say 27 because that is when I started to live my life.

What is that you couldn’t be without?

My wife.

What is your favorite book and why?

I guess it would be “The Hobbit”… why… well, it was the ultimate adventure story for me. It was yet another source that proved to me that anyone can accomplish anything they are determined enough to and want to badly enough regardless of short comings or obstacles of any size.

What is your favorite movie and why?

The Star Wars saga, because, as with the Hobbit, it was a story of accomplishment, over coming great odds, family even if they aren’t blood related and the complexity and seriousness our actions can have on the future. Not just the immediate future but for years to come.

What is your favorite music (album) and what does it bring you?

I don’t have a favorite music or album, I have a favorite group and that would be Metallica. It is energetic and demanding. Some would say it is violent or aggressive, but I would say that those people don’t understand the symbolism in the lyrics and they just take them too literal.

What is your favorite gift to give ?

Hopefully happiness and a feeling of being familiar.

How do you start your day? Are there any rituals you couldn’t miss?

I tend to steer away from rituals… I think rituals are a dangerous thing to form. It is my experience that those that form rituals are too easily thrown off balance by the unexpected.

What is your relationship to animals? Do you have a pet?

I love animals… I don’t have a pet. My wife does. I had a dog and a bunch of cats at one time, but I don’t have the need to “own” another living creature and force it into an existence that isn’t natural regardless of how easily the animal might adapt to the situation. I just don’t much like my roll in that relationship. I could see having animals… pets of a sort, but in a more natural environment where they can come and go as they please.

———————–

Interviews with exceptional artists

As a writer, numerologist and life coach who loves art I see art as the purest reflection of life. I consider true artists as those who influence human consciousness and contribute to changes of humanity. With their imagination they encircle the world. And imagination is more important than knowledge because it is not limited. They take us into the world without boundaries offering us to expand our own consciousness and meet the best in ourselves.

With artists we also become a part of this limitless world in which everything is possible as the only ruler of that world are cheerful souls, beauty and harmony.

“Art is essentially the affirmation, the blessing and the deification of existence”~ Nietzsche

I start a series of interviews with very selectively chosen contemporary artists. Not only will you learn how they deal with challenges and advantages of creating art for living, but you will know what is that what makes them be unique in the noble mission of art which enables us to find and lose ourselves at the same time.

Only professional artists who are fully committed to art will be included. The worst thing that can happen to any of us is to become indifferent. It shows that you are on the opposite of life, love and art. These exceptional artists are here to make a difference and awake those who come in touch with their art to feel the same. I wish you to enjoy meeting these great artists here and to know them and their work from a closer perspective.

PS for artists:
If you are an artist and want to be considered, the only guidelines for having your profile added are that you are a professional fine artist, creating art full-time.
Send an email with your name( complete birth name) and birth date, country, very brief biography, and your website address.
